PATRICK FROLICKING AT THE EKKA!

The ekka proved once again to be about the 81st greatest show on earth! Actually, Joey and I had a fantastic day and escaped "SHOWBAG FREE!' That's right people normally the only reason I go to the ekka is for those bags of rubbish, but just when I was trying to decide between Care Bears and Strawberry shortcake, I had a sudden insight... Do I really want this crap???!!! The answer was NO! We did however, have a lovely time in the baby farm animal pavilion and I drank heaps of homemade lemonade!

HOMELAND UPDATES AGAIN!

The biggest thing to happen to homeland since I discovered video.... I HAVE LOCATED THE SPELLCHECKER! This new development should quiet all those 'helpful' suggestions!

ADVERGAMING ISSUES AND THEN SOME...

Today I did my first postgrad uni presentation. It went swimmingly, and if anyone wants any stats on the proliferation of online gaming amongst children, I'm your gal. Advertising companies are ruthless, but I think it's the children who are exploiting them! Food companies in particular part with big money to create online games for people with no salaries?! I guess a tantrum is a pretty powerful bartering commodity...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK

Celebrating the two six turn of MR Lyngh at Merthyer. Neptune did his usual 'thing' and guarded this precious space, where beer and views flow cheaply.

AHOY LAND LUBBERS!

Thats proffessional speak for sailors peeps! Joey and i had a glorious time at Villa Pole on Karragara. For those of you that are wondering what the hell I'm talking about, Karragara is the island home of Joey's mama and papa, quietly nestled in Morton Bay. There's a reason real estate is booming there- that place is awsome! We spent the evening having a bon fire and a few beeries on the beach. The next day we headed off on the house boat, sailing (motoring technically!) past straddie, russel, lamb, just to name a few islands. This place is a nature wonderland... we were surrounded by a pod of maybe, 6 dolphins, for about 15 minutes. We got to see them hunting fish! Pretty spectacular. There were turtles, kite birds, black swans (?!)... and more! What a perfect day. After a weary day fishing and enjoying sceanery, we headed back to eat flathead and sandcrabs, caught by John. Summery: Fresh fish, fresh air, good company! Thanks to Val and John for a lovley weekend getaway x
